Jane Matteson is a nationally published designer holding degrees in interior design, fine art and a doctorate in administrative programming.

Having worked with key players in the residential furnishings industry over the span of her career, Matteson delivers credibility along with passionate creativity to every endeavor and partnership. In 2008, she was recognized as a select member of the Creative Class by High Point Market Authority, joining industry luminaries including former Century Furniture president Bob Maricich, eclectic designer Raymond Waites and Red Egg founder Carol Gregg.

Integrating solid design principles, a deep understanding of the home furnishings and interior design businesses, infallible taste and strong organizational skills, Matteson relies on her comprehensive base of experience to produce viable results for clients and their projects.

Creative Consultant
2008-Present — Leather Trends — Created successful luxe leather line merchandising at the high end.

2007-Present — Toray Ultrasuede — Developing new products including Dimensions and Torale collections, new color work for Ultrasuede® line, driving “green” concept for Ultrasuede. Creative merchandising and marketing input. Conceived and executed designer series project with Barclay Butera, Jamie Drake, Vladimir Kagan and Rick Lee. Trend Reporting—On-camera filming for product point-of-sale and marketing.

2006-Present — Trend Reporting — International trends affecting manufacturers, fabric and leather suppliers, and media outlets.

Design Consultant

2005-2007 — Pride Sasser — Product consultation, layout and design for showroom installation. Trending reports and input on core ideas to corporate president. Emphasis on new upholstery category.


2004-2005 — American Leather — Collaborated with New Yorkbased retail and showroom designer Martin Roberts to establish Gallery programs in leading retail locations. Charged with develo ping fabric line for pillow collection to coordinate with American Leather upholstered products.

Creative Director

1992 - 2003 — Weiman Upholstery — Established highly stylized, contemporary design direction with icons Vladimir Kagan and Stanley Jay Friedman.
